classification challenge

Kingdom:Animalia
Phylum:Arthropoda
Superclass:Hexapoda
Class:Insecta
Order:Orthoptera
Family:Romaleidae
Genus:Romalea
Species:R. guttata

Arthropoda- is an invertebrate animal having an exoskeleton (external skeleton)
 Hexapoda- Greek for six legs
insecta- Any insect
Orthoptera- an order of insects with paurometabolous or incomplete metamorphosis, including the grasshopperscricketsand locusts.
Romaleidea- The Romaleidae or lubber grasshoppers are a family of grasshoppers
Romalea- the same as Romaleidea

the lubber grasshoppers can reach nearly 3 in (76 mm) in size. Their wings are rarely 1½ the length of the abdomen, most of the time they are much smaller than that, and cannot be used for flight. Accordingly, they can only jump short distances, compared to how massive they can get. The grasshopper is widely known by the name "diablo", "black diablo", or Devil's Horse in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. The insect is also colloquially known as a "graveyard grasshopper".

this week in science 6

This week in science we had to list thing we need to survive. We also had to list what we thought crickets needed to live and we looked up what they need to survive. The next day we also had to observe the cricket behavior in 3 different ways. one way we had to name a behavior and how many are doing that behavior. the other one we had to tell them where they were and what behavior they had. the last one was where they are every 30 seconds and the behavior and how much they move. we also had to do a mission challenge with 2 people absent so it was only me and someone else. we barley got it done but we managed to get it done before time ran out.

This week in science i learned that only the male crickets chirp. i also learned that crickets might be more active when they know there is people watching the and trapped in a tank.i also learned that they dont chirp if they are scared.

This week in science 5

This week in science what I learn was that a rocket with wing in the bottom can fly the farthest its probably because it has  a better probability of having the most air to go through the wings. I think that the people in N.A.S.A had to do a lot of test to determine that the best place to place the wings on the bottom the had to put the wings every where to determine the perfect place to place the wings.

What we did this week was create a rocket with determining the best placement of the wings. There are a lot of things that use as a class had to figure out as and i think that the perfect rocket is the one with all of our data combined because if we put all of the class's data together than the rocket would have the wings on the bottom, the nose would be small will not weight a lot, there would be 3 wings and all the wings would be triangular. we also had to launch the rockets that we made on a big launcher.

This week in science #4

This week in science we had to record the data of growth and of the color of the plant. So we can put it in our document. We also had to o all of our assigned work i had to make the experimental set up (digital illustration, Someone also did the tittle etc.). But I still need to take a picture of the results.

Brassica Rapa
This week I Learned that the brassica rapa is week when it does not have sunlight. I also learned that the plant without sunlight can grow more but it will not be healthy as the one in the sunlight. the one with no light will look dead and the one in the sunlight will be green(healthy).

This Week in Science #3

This week we collected data for the plant brassica rapa. We put one of the plants in sunlight (Window) One in some light and dark (Back Desk).  And the last one in complete darkness (Cabinet). And by accident Elizabeth killed one of the plants or hurt it bad because its bent to the side so now we can't measure it but she found a way to. It was like a freak accident.

This week I Learned that a plant can break or die with just a touch

This week in science #2

What I DID this week in science was plant the plant brassica rapa. Me and my group came up with a good question for the plant investigation. Our question was "How does the amount of sunlight affect the color of the plant." it was a good question because we can change the surroundings of the plant like one we put it net to the window so it could get a lot of sunlight, the other we put it in the cabinet, and the last one we put it in the middle like on the desk in the back so it could get some light and some darkness.

What I LEARNED this week is the Brassica rapa. I also learned you can eat the roots of the Brassica rapa. I never knew that you can eat any plants roots. I also learned that Some of the Brassica rapas are fast growing and go through their life cycle quickly.
